She is working as senior Lecturer in Carnatic Vocal. Completed 25 years of service in her teaching career. She has obtained Carnatic Vocal training from Srimathi Haripriya (one of Hyderabad Sisters), eminent Vidhushi Padmasri Srirangam Gopala Ratnam and Late Sri Vasa Padmanabham. To her credit she has trained hundreds of students in various music and dance colleges under Department of Language and Culture, Govt. of Telangana. Several students completed successfully Carnatic Vocal Certificate and Carnatic Vocal Diploma courses under guidance.

In year 2017 she has been honoured by “Best Teacher” award in Carnatic Vocal by Department of Language & Culture, Government of Telangana in the month of September.

Education

She did Diploma in Carnatic Vocal from Sri Thyagaraja Government College of Music and Dance, Ramkote, Hyderabad. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Osmania University. She studied her M.A. (Sociology) from Osmania University

Papers Presentation and Books

She has presented a paper on “Carnatic Music related topics in Panditaradhya Charitha written Palkurki Somanatha” in Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. This paper focuses on contribution of Telangana to Carnatic Music.

She has also compiled book in English which covers theory useful to Diploma Students of Carnatic Vocal.

Albums

She has published album consisting of Carnatic Vocal Lessons on YouTube, covering basic lessons of Carnatic Vocal for benefit of students who are beginners.


She published album covering “21 Vinayaka Krithis by Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar”. This is a unique album of it’s kind and covers 21 Krithis in 20 different ragas. She has published album covering Sri Bhakta Ramadasa Navaratna Keerthanas.She has published album covering seven compositions of late PadmaVibhushan Dr. Mangalampally Balamuralikrishna.


Awards

  • In year 2017 she has been honoured by “Best Teacher” award in Carnatic Vocal by Department of Language & Culture, Government of Telangana in the month of September.
  • In 2014 she was felicitated with title of ‘Vanitha Gana Kokila’ by Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Maha Vidyalaya Hyderabad.
  • She won Yuva award in 1992 from South Central Zone Cultural Centre.

Carnatic Vocal Performances

Performed at various cultural programs conducted by Department of Language &Culture, Government of Telangana. Performed at various temples located in Dharmapuri, Vemulawada, Yadagirigutta and Bhadrachalam. Performed at World Telugu Conference 2012, held at Tirupathi.Performed at Sri Thyagaraja Samadhi, Thiruvayuru.Recently given carnatic vocal concert on South Indian Cultural Association (SICA) stage.She has performed at “Bhairavi” organization, Puducherry, Given overseas performance at few cities in the United States of America.
